“Everybody has a body”—that’s a phrase you’ve probably heard before. But in a world filled with beauty standards, it can be tough to keep a positive attitude towards our body. Let’s create our own body image to counter the flawless and perfectly curated social media standards!

Let’s see what happens when we take a step back from all that, and truly connect with (and embrace!) our bodies. In this Creativity Club, we’re going to challenge those conventional beauty ideals! Together, we’ll explore the practice of self-love through art, and boost our confidence in fun, creative ways. We’ll kick things off by chatting about what body positivity means to us. Then we’ll break out in groups to explore this topic creatively, in a dance/movement workshop or an illustration workshop. Signing up is free! We do have a limited amount of spots however, so don’t wait too long. To wrap it up, we’ll get back together to share our experiences.

And if you’re hungry after all that, join us for pizza afterwards for just €5,-! (Order link below.)

About Creativity Club
Art and cultural expressions are a reflection of the time we live in. So what better way to explore and shape the topics that matter to you, than by getting creative with them yourself? Each edition focuses on a theme that resonates with you, accompanied by workshops that dive deeper into it. Share your thoughts with fellow students, and pick up new creative skills along the way.

Accessibility
The event is open to both Dutch-speaking and international students. The HU Library is accessible via an elevator on the ground floor of Padualaan 99. Every floor at Padualaan 101 has a wheelchair-accessible toilet. Zone C is accessible for people with mobility aids. If you would like access to this zone, please contact the desk (tel: 088-4817125 or email: bibliotheek@hu.nl). We will arrange for you to enter the space at an agreed time. If you happen to drop by unexpectedly, you can always check in at the desk if you want to enter a specific zone. For the movement workshop, we will temporarily move to a different location.

If you have any additional special needs or requests, we would be happy to discuss the possibilities with you. Please contact us at podium@hu.nl.
