“Everybody has a body”—that’s a phrase you’ve probably heard before. But in a world filled with beauty standards, it can be tough to keep a positive attitude towards our body. Let’s create our own body image to counter the flawless and perfectly curated social media standards!
Let’s see what happens when we take a step back from all that, and truly connect with (and embrace!) our bodies. In this Creativity Club, we’re going to challenge those conventional beauty ideals! Together, we’ll explore the practice of self-love through art, and boost our confidence in fun, creative ways. We’ll kick things off by chatting about what body positivity means to us. Then we’ll break out in groups to explore this topic creatively, in a dance/movement workshop or an illustration workshop. Signing up is free! We do have a limited amount of spots however, so don’t wait too long. To wrap it up, we’ll get back together to share our experiences.
👉 The workshops
Illustration
In this workshop you will create self-portraits that make you see your body in a new light. What is it capable of? How does it feel? Which parts of your body do you want to celebrate? Step by step you will build your own character illustration with the help of professional illustrator Manon Bijkerk, also known as La Nonette.
Movement/dance
In this workshop, you will learn to gain confidence in your body through various dance moves and movements. Successful dancer Patrick Karijowidjojo will introduce you to styles ranging from street dance to vogueing, conveying both masculine and feminine energy.

Each edition focuses on a theme that resonates with you, accompanied by workshops that dive deeper into it. Share your thoughts with fellow students, and pick up new creative skills along the way.
Accessibility
The event is open to both Dutch-speaking and international students. The room for the kick-off is accessible via an elevator on the ground floor of Padualaan 99. For the movement workshop, we will temporarily move to a different location, also accessible by wheelchair.
