Study Sounds 7 V2

Study Sounds | Multisensory Edition

  • Tue 27 May 12:00 - 17:00
  • HU Library
  • Free
  • Podium x HU Library

The exam period is approaching, which means it’s time to hit the books again. To help you stay focused, we’re organizing a special, multisensory edition of Study Sounds at the HU Library!

In Section C, live musicians will play instrumental music to boost your concentration. And this time, we’re taking it a step further: with live visuals, we’ll create a calming, low-stimulus atmosphere that supports all your senses while you study.

Of course, we’ll also provide free tea, coffee, and snacks—so you can power through your session and leave the library feeling accomplished!

Meet the artists

12:00–14:15 | Noah Stakenborg and Jeline Weening
With backgrounds in jazz, pop, and fingerstyle, Noah and Jeline are joining forces. For this edition of Study Sounds, they weave together original compositions and improvisations. Using guitar, saxophone, and bass, they create dreamlike soundscapes and melodic stories — the perfect soundtrack to support your study session.

14:45–17:00 | Slojay
Slojay is an artist from Utrecht who defies stereotypes. Growing up in a colorless suburb, he found little inspiration in the grey, cultureless surroundings — so he decided to create a world of his own. With smooth, harmonious neo-soul layered over laid-back hip-hop beats, Slojay sets a relaxed, groovy mood — ideal for studying.

Visuals
During Slojay’s session, all-round creative and artist Sofia Origo from Passiflora Cave will live-translate the music into visuals, using a variety of physical tools. Curious to see what that looks like? Come by and check it out!
