From September 2022, Podium is looking for a…
PROGRAMME CREATOR PODIUM INTERNATIONAL (student-assistant)
This is where you will work:
Podium is HU’s very own student-run cultural platform. At Podium, students develop and promote programmes themselves. All events have a socio-cultural angle, and focus on themes that matter. This way, we build a welcoming Podium-community within the larger HU-community. We offer a large variety of activities at different venues: theatre visits, film screenings, debates, talk shows, pub quizzes, podcasts – you name it! This year we are kicking off with Podium International. This exciting new programme branch will focus entirely on developing activities in English for international students and employees at the HU (and all others interested, of course). And you can be part of it!
When you start, the Podium team consists of 5 employees and 15 student assistants. You will work with 4 of them (1 programme coordinator and 3 other student assistants) on the English spoken programme. Together we will form one big, dynamic Podium team.
The programme of Podium International will still be under development when you start working at Podium. This means you’ll be playing a big role in shaping Podium International, which requires a hands-on attitude and flexibility. Apart from a lot of responsibility and creative freedom, we’ll make sure to guide you in your work. You don’t have to be an expert yet – you just need motivation to learn, and be excited to contribute to the promotion of our new programme branch among international students!
What will you be doing?
⦁ You will collaborate on the development of English spoken programmes. Your ideas and input will play a big role in creating the content of the programme.
⦁ You play a big part in producing, preparing and executing the events.
⦁ You get the chance to be on the stage as presenter or interviewer, either solo or as part of a duo.
⦁ You are a Podium ambassador and will actively try to make as many (international) HU students as possible excited about our events.
⦁ Study at Utrecht University of Applied Sciences (HU)
⦁ Are available for 8 hours a week, for at least 9 months, starting September 2022.
⦁ Will have flexible hours. However, you are available on weekdays for meetings during the day.
⦁ Are fluent enough in English to produce and present events in English.
⦁ Are in touch with international students and know what kind of events interest them.
⦁ Are detail-oriented and have a strong sense of responsibility.
⦁ Like to be on a stage or want to work on your stage presence.
⦁ Are passionate about arts and social issues.
⦁ Think it’s important to strive for diversity and inclusion in our programmes.
What we offer:
⦁ A well-paid side job! The standard salary for student assistants depends on your year of enrolment (1st year student: €14,50, 2nd year: €15,07, 3rd and 4th year: €15,63 per hour pre-tax).
⦁ A dynamic and flexible job that can be combined with your studies.
⦁ Enthusiastic team of fellow students and employees.
⦁ Fun and interesting workshops for you and your colleagues to develop new skills.
Please send an email with your CV and motivation letter to firstname.lastname@example.org addressed to our programme coordinator Jasper Leijten. The application deadline is 22 June 23:59.
