Another week of eating microwave meals, takeaway food and frozen pizzas? Getting a grip on your eating habits can be a challenge, especially if you’re not used to cooking for yourself. Let’s talk about how food can help us live a more balanced and happy life.
Your eating habits are a big part of your everyday life. But do you ever stop to think about your own food intake? What, when and how much you eat are strongly influenced by your cultural background and social circumstances. Your mealtime routine and food preferences can also change drastically over time. You might have craved for sweets as a child but the older you get, the more you realise what food is good for you and what food you could skip to live a healthier lifestyle. Eating consciously can improve your overall health and mental wellbeing. But is it possible to have a balanced diet without spending tons of time and money?
In this edition of Let’s Talk About, moderators Agnes and Tirsa will share some of their own relationship with food, interview two guest speakers and invite you to reflect on your own eating habits via conversations and playful exercises. After opening up and sharing our thoughts you’ll have ample time to enjoy free snacks and drinks and chat about life with your fellow (international) students!
Special guests
We’ve invited two experts who will help us navigate the topic of eating habits. Gina dos Santos Hilte specialises in clinical nutrition and the relationship between physical and mental health. With a combination of personal consultations, nutrition plans, yoga postures and mindfulness techniques she helps people find a balanced and healthy lifestyle. Ghislaine is a lifelong vegetarian and food lover who uses her Instagram account @veggilaine and her recipe books to inspire people to eat more healthy, simple and delicious vegetarian and vegan meals. During and after the event you can ask them anything you’d like!
About Let's Talk About...
Ever have the feeling that some things in life only happen to you, and nobody can relate to your experiences? Let’s talk about it! In this event series by Podium, we start up conversations about challenges we face when transitioning to life as an adult. By sharing our stories and approaching them with humour we might discover that we have more in common than we think.
